Is there any way for his biological children to find him if they feel the need?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1131\" data-end=\"1263\">This question touches on a subject that is both intimate and deeply human. And it turns out that, recently, the law has (somewhat) evolved. <\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1265\" data-end=\"1268\">\n<h3 data-start=\"1270\" data-end=\"1308\">\u2696\ufe0f <strong data-start=\"1277\" data-end=\"1308\">What French Law Says<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1310\" data-end=\"1493\">For a long time, <strong data-start=\"1332\" data-end=\"1409\">sperm or egg donation in France was strictly anonymous and free<\/strong>. No filiation link, no identity information could be transmitted. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1495\" data-end=\"1599\">But the <strong data-start=\"1503\" data-end=\"1539\">bioethics law of August 2, 2021<\/strong>, which came into effect on September 1, 2022, changes the situation:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1601\" data-end=\"1972\">\n<li data-start=\"1601\" data-end=\"1795\">\n<p data-start=\"1603\" data-end=\"1795\">Children born <strong data-start=\"1619\" data-end=\"1666\">from donations made after this date<\/strong> can <strong data-start=\"1675\" data-end=\"1709\">request the donor&#8217;s identity<\/strong> (name, first name, age, city, etc.), <strong data-start=\"1743\" data-end=\"1777\">if the donor has given consent<\/strong> at the time of donation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1796\" data-end=\"1972\">\n<p data-start=\"1798\" data-end=\"1972\">However, <strong data-start=\"1811\" data-end=\"1879\">donations made before 2022 remain subject to the anonymity regime<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1881\" data-end=\"1889\">unless<\/strong> the donor <strong data-start=\"1904\" data-end=\"1971\">voluntarily contacts the authorities to lift this anonymity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1974\" data-end=\"2197\">\ud83d\udc49 <strong data-start=\"1977\" data-end=\"2015\">So for a donation from the 2000s:<\/strong><br data-start=\"2015\" data-end=\"2018\">\u27a1\ufe0f <strong data-start=\"2021\" data-end=\"2066\">No information can be transmitted<\/strong> to children born from this donation, unless the donor <strong data-start=\"2113\" data-end=\"2145\">takes voluntary action<\/strong> for recognition or partial lifting of anonymity.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2199\" data-end=\"2202\">\n<h3 data-start=\"2204\" data-end=\"2256\">\ud83e\udded <strong data-start=\"2211\" data-end=\"2256\">What Steps are Possible Today?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4 data-start=\"2258\" data-end=\"2309\">\u2705 <em data-start=\"2265\" data-end=\"2309\">for Children Born from a Donation before 2022:<\/em><\/h4>\n<ol data-start=\"2311\" data-end=\"2797\">\n<li data-start=\"2311\" data-end=\"2508\">\n<p data-start=\"2314\" data-end=\"2508\">They can \u201cregister on an <strong data-start=\"2344\" data-end=\"2377\">origins access registry<\/strong>\u201d with the <strong data-start=\"2388\" data-end=\"2397\">CNAOP<\/strong> (National Council for Access to Personal Origins), even if this registry mainly concerns adoptions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2509\" data-end=\"2689\">\n<p data-start=\"2512\" data-end=\"2689\">In case of suffering or need for answers, a <strong data-start=\"2563\" data-end=\"2605\">request for psychological support<\/strong> can be made to AMP (Assisted Medical Procreation) centers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2690\" data-end=\"2797\">\n<p data-start=\"2693\" data-end=\"2797\">If the donor comes forward, a <strong data-start=\"2724\" data-end=\"2762\">voluntary cross-checking of requests<\/strong> may possibly be established.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4 data-start=\"2799\" data-end=\"2873\">\u2705 <em data-start=\"2806\" data-end=\"2873\">for Donors from the 2000s who Wish to be Found:<\/em><\/h4>\n<ol data-start=\"2875\" data-end=\"3132\">\n<li data-start=\"2875\" data-end=\"3003\">\n<p data-start=\"2878\" data-end=\"3003\">It is <strong data-start=\"2885\" data-end=\"2919\">possible to contact the CECOS<\/strong> (Center for Study and Conservation of Eggs and Sperm) where the donation was made.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3004\" data-end=\"3132\">\n<p data-start=\"3007\" data-end=\"3132\">A <strong data-start=\"3011\" data-end=\"3057\">voluntary declaration to lift anonymity<\/strong> can be registered with the <strong data-start=\"3090\" data-end=\"3131\">National Register of Gamete Donations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr data-start=\"3134\" data-end=\"3137\">\n<h3 data-start=\"3139\" data-end=\"3199\">\ud83e\uddec <strong data-start=\"3146\" data-end=\"3199\">a New Era for Children Born from Donations?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3201\" data-end=\"3442\">Society is evolving. New laws aim to <strong data-start=\"3248\" data-end=\"3339\">better reconcile the donor&#8217;s right to anonymity with the child&#8217;s right to identity<\/strong>.
